Setup path
Eight steps from zero to live class
Create your classes
01Add each class, period or block, and the days it meets. PunchClock uses the period name to match the class to your bell schedule.
Open My ClassesBuild your bell schedule
02Create a Regular Day schedule with each period’s start and end time. Add separate schedules for block days, half days, or delayed openings if you use them.
Open Bell SchedulesSet the school calendar
03Use Generate Date Range to create the school days you need, then assign the correct bell schedule. For a trial, one or two weeks is plenty.
Open School CalendarEnroll your students
04Open enrollment for a class, copy the class link, and share it in Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology, email, or wherever students normally get links. Close enrollment when the roster is set.
Open My ClassesCreate the Punch In
05On the Dashboard, select the class and create a PUNCH IN ticket. Use a short readiness or retrieval question that students can answer as class begins.
Open DashboardCreate the Punch Out
06Create a PUNCH OUT ticket for the end of class. Ask students to explain, apply, or reflect on what they learned. Punch Out also captures confidence.
Open DashboardWatch the class live
07Select today’s class and date in Daily Class View. Punch In and Punch Out completion updates while the window is open, and you can review individual responses without reloading the whole app.
Open DashboardHandle attendance and exceptions
08Use the teacher controls when a student is absent, excused, or needs a teacher-recorded Punch. Click a student for more detail when you need context.

Start of class

Teach
Teach the lesson. PunchClock stays out of the way.
End of class
Students complete the Punch Out and confidence check.
After class
Scan responses and decide what needs reinforcement next time.
Pilot note
PunchClock currently uses Eastern Time for schedule and Punch-window calculations. During a trial, you do not need to configure an entire school year—one or two weeks is enough to test the classroom routine properly.
